The New Ray of Hope Community Centre
A New Ray of Hope Community Centre
In the summer of 2010 the board of The Waterloo Regional Dream Centre approached Ray of Hope with a proposal to take over operations of their facility at 659 King St. E. and merge their ministry activities within our Community Support Services. After much discussion and prayerful consideration we reached an agreement that this was the best direction to take for our ministry. So on November 1, 2010 we moved our programming down the street and committed to a 7 day per week operation at the new Ray of Hope Community Centre. This new facility has over 28,000 sq. ft. of space and The ROHCC is operating in approximately one half of that, compared to the 3,500 sq. ft. of space in our old facility.
While there are many wonderful things about the new facility, new laundry facilities, large kitchen, ample parking, it is still in need of significant renovations and reconfiguration of space to make the best use of it for our programs. We are also planning to move our head office into this facility and will be looking at ways to best utilize the resource that this building provides to serve the community.
