Residential Treatment
Residential Treatment is offered to males ages 13-17 at Ray of Hope’s residence in downtown Kitchener. Our small size allows each young man to receive individual attention from staff, while he also benefits from working on recovery with his peers.
Throughout their four-month stay, residents learn healthy self-care in all aspects of life. This is an abstinence-based program for all substances, including tobacco.
Our compassionate and caring staff help residents create a personalized plan of recovery which involves peer support, individual counseling, life-skills development, formal schooling, recreation and spiritual care. Parents/guardians meet with staff to help rebuild family relationships and ensure a smooth transition back home. Residents also learn the importance of community support through participation in volunteer work and attendance at AA or NA meetings.
Upon completion of this program youth are welcome to join the Community-Based Treatment Program or Day Treatment Program for continued support.
