  • Coldest Night of the Year www.coldestnightoftheyear.org

The Coldest Night of the Year walk (WALK) is a non-competitive 5 or 10 km walk-a-thon in the dead of winter to help support the hungry, homeless and hurting of Kitchener-Waterloo.  The Walk is designed to help elevate the issue of homelessness & poverty in our community and raise funds for the Ray of Hope Community Centre.

  • Ray of Hope is very excited about the development of a deeper partnership with Waterloo Mennonite Brethren Church (WMB), which will bring Morning Glory Café coffee & snacks to WMB members every Sunday morning.   As a church they have committed to providing a great service to their attendees and creating a place where Morning Glory Café graduates can continue to develop their job training skills.

  • Ray of Hope’s Youth Addiction Services is excited to pilot the Rebound Choices program which is funded by Health Canada’s Drug Treatment Funding Program and supported by the Waterloo Wellington Local Health Integration Network (WWLHIN).

  • Ray of Hope is excited to announce the sale of the 37 Market Lane building to the Working Centre.  As a partner community agency the Working Centre will continue to use the property to reach out to and support our friends in the downtown core.

Therefore the Administrative Offices will be moving to the main floor of the Ray of Hope Community Centre building on December 20th, 2011.  The new main mailing address will be:

    230 - 659 King St. East

    Kitchener, ON

  • On November 1, 2011 the Ray of Hope Community Centre (ROHCC) celebrated one complete year of ministry in the new-to-us 659 King St.

  • Taking Alpha to the Homeless and the Hurting

"Alpha Downtown" is an initiative of Ray of Hope Community Centre in Kitchener where the course is being offered to the homeless population they serve. Not everyone who attends Ray of Hope is homeless; some have a place to call home. For those who do, it is often just a room in a rooming house. All are struggling financially and many have serious mental health and addiction issues. “We have come home with very full hearts tonight,” says one of the Alpha leaders after the first session.
