Why should I volunteer with Ray of Hope?
Maybe you want to meet new people or learn new skills. Perhaps you’d like to give back to your community or live your faith. We can help you find meaningful ways to accomplish all these things.
What kind of volunteer jobs could I do?
We have a wide range of opportunities available at our Community Centre and in our Youth Services programs. Jobs may include chapel service team, data entry clerk, dishwasher, driver, food hamper prep team, food hamper serve team, food services helper, general helper, grocery shopper, grounds and gardens, hospitality team, janitorial team, laundry helper, maintenance team, photography/promotion, receptionist. If you have a special talent or skill you’d like to share, let us know!
Can I volunteer with friends?
You can choose to volunteer as an individual or as part of a group. Many of our volunteers choose to serve in teams with other members of their faith communities, workplaces or social groups.
What’s the time commitment?
Help out on a one-time basis, once a month, or every week. You decide how often you’d like to volunteer.
Do you offer community service and education placements?
Yes, we have a limited number of opportunities if you need to complete community service hours as a condition of a court order, or as part of your education. Your hours will be tracked and you’ll receive documentation at the completion of the program. A minimum of 40 hours is required for community service placements.
