Pandemic Dishwasher volunteers will support staff and meal program volunteers by helping clean all the cooking/serving dishes used in creating and serving the daily meal. Pandemic Dishwasher volunteers will also help to support the physical health and safety of everyone at the Community Centre by helping to clean and sanitize the kitchen area at the end of each shift. Face masks are required for the duration of the shift. PPE will be supplied.
Pandemic Coffee Server
Pandemic Coffee servers will be in charge of the coffee station. They will be responsible to make the coffee, serve the coffee, and distribute the coffee to anyone desiring one in acceptable socially distanced ways. They will be responsible to keep the coffee station clean (food safety) and sanitized (pandemic safety) during their shifts. They will be expected to have excellent spoken English, be friendly and outgoing at all times and get to know the names and preferences of the guests they are working with. Face masks are required for the duration of the shift. PPE will be supplied.
Pandemic Marketplace Server
Pandemic Marketplace servers will assist guests in the process of using our food bank program in accordance with the guidelines set by the FoodBank of Waterloo Region. The role includes recording all visits in the databank, accompanying guests through the Marketplace ensuring compliance with food & pandemic safety guidelines, and distributing pre-packaged food hampers to those who prefer not to enter the building. Restocking shelves, periodically sanitizing all work surfaces, and general cleanup of the work area will also be completed as required. Face masks are required for the duration of the shift. PPE will be supplied.
Pandemic YE Kitchen Helper
Pandemic YE Kitchen Helpers will assist Youth Employment staff and students to prepare and package 100’s of healthy breakfasts and lunches in the Ray of Hope Community Center kitchen. These will be distributed on site and in the community to our homeless guests who are in need. The role includes helping to prepare the food, and then help package it up as individual meals; packaging desserts or other food items, possibly some baking, slicing bread, dishwashing, periodically sanitizing all work surfaces and general kitchen clean up. Face masks are required.
