New Opportunities

Pandemic Dishwasher

Pandemic Dishwasher volunteers will support staff and meal program volunteers by helping clean all the cooking/serving dishes used in creating and serving the daily meal. Pandemic Dishwasher volunteers will also help to support the physical health and safety of everyone at the Community Centre by helping to clean and sanitize the kitchen area at the end of each shift. PPE will be supplied.

Sundays: 4:00-6:30pm

Pandemic Server

Pandemic Server volunteers will support staff by serving sit down meals to guests in the dining room, providing Grab and Go meals out the main foyer doors to those who do not wish to stay, and supporting washroom use to ensure physical distancing and proper sanitation will be followed. Pandemic Server volunteers will also help to support the physical health and safety of everyone at the Community Centre by helping to clean and sanitize at the end of each shift. PPE will be supplied.

Wednesdays: 6:30-9:00pm
Thursdays: 6:30-9:00pm
Fridays: 6:30-9:00pm

Pandemic Coffee Server

Pandemic Coffee servers will be in charge of the coffee station. They will be responsible to make the coffee, serve the coffee, and distribute the coffee to anyone desiring one in acceptable socially distanced ways. They will be responsible to keep the coffee station clean (food safety) and sanitized (pandemic safety) during their shifts. They will be expected to have excellent spoken English, be friendly and outgoing at all times and get to know the names and preferences of the guests they are working with. PPE will be supplied.

Mondays: 2:30-5:30pm
Tuesdays: 5:15-8:15pm
Wednesdays: 2:30-5:30pm

Marketplace Server

Pandemic Marketplace servers will assist guests in the process of using our food bank program in accordance with the guidelines set by the FoodBank of Waterloo Region. The role includes recording all visits in the databank, accompanying guests through the Marketplace ensuring compliance with food & pandemic safety guidelines. Restocking shelves, periodically sanitizing all work surfaces, and general cleanup of the work area will also be done as required.

Mondays: 10am-1pm
Tuesdays: 10am-1pm
Wednesdays: 10am-1pm
Thursdays: 10am-1pm
