We would like to thank all the businesses, churches, families and individuals who have supported Welcome Home over the years, especially those who participated in the annual Ride for Refuge. Your generosity has helped hundreds of refugees find a safe & caring place to call their first Canadian home!
Welcome Home Refugee House will undergo an organizational change on October 1, 2019. This means that all our dedicated refugee programing will transition to the leadership of another KW based agency whose core business is providing support to local refugees. This also means that Ray of Hope will no longer provide a refugee housing program, but will continue to provide food support to refugees & newcomers through the Ray of Hope Community Centre.
Welcome Home Refugee House
In 2015, Ray of Hope adopted Welcome Home as a permanent part of its ministry. In our Refugee House, which opened in September 2016, we provide a safe home for families and individuals during their first year in Canada. We partner with churches and local agencies to provide emotional and spiritual support, health care, English language training, advocacy, and more.
Ultimately, our goal is to provide the support and skills that will enable refugees to lead healthy and productive lives, whether they remain in Canada or are forced to return to their home country.
*Note that we do not engage in overseas refugee sponsorship and are not able to reply to inquiries from overseas related to refugee sponsorship.
